Capriccioli
Along the coastline of the Costa Smeralda, small coves appear unexpectedly between granite rocks and Mediterranean vegetation. One of the most beautiful of these places is Capriccioli, located on the Romazzino peninsula in the heart of the region.
Here the coastline breaks into several small beaches, each protected by natural rock formations shaped over centuries by wind and sea. Fine, pale sand meets exceptionally clear water that shifts between soft turquoise and deeper shades of blue.
Capriccioli is not defined by one single beach, but by a series of small bays. Three of them lie close together, separated by smooth granite outcrops and low vegetation. Each cove feels slightly different — some open wider toward the horizon, while others remain sheltered and almost hidden.
The water is remarkably calm and shallow near the shore, creating the distinctive colours that have become synonymous with the Costa Smeralda.
Despite being at the centre of one of the most renowned coastal regions of the Mediterranean, Capriccioli retains a quiet and natural character. The beaches remain small in scale, and the surrounding landscape of granite, juniper and pine trees continues to shape the atmosphere of the place.
Early in the morning the coves are almost silent. The light spreads slowly across the water, and the granite rocks reflect warm tones as the sun rises over the sea.
Places like Capriccioli reveal the true character of the Costa Smeralda.
Not only dramatic landscapes or famous harbours, but small natural bays where the Mediterranean appears at its most simple and most beautiful.
