Refund policy
Returns & Refunds
We hope that you will enjoy your MALITI piece for many years to come. If you wish to return an item, the following return policy applies.
Returns
You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your order.
To request a return, please contact us at maliti@t-online.de within 14 days of delivery. Please include your name and order number so that we can identify your order and provide you with the appropriate return instructions and return address.
After notifying us of your return, please send the item back within 14 days.
Please do not return an item without first contacting us.
This return policy does not limit any mandatory consumer rights that may apply under the laws of your country or place of residence.
Return Shipping
MALITI offers complimentary shipping to all destinations currently served by our online store.
If you choose to return an item, the direct cost of returning the goods is your responsibility. MALITI does not provide prepaid return shipping labels for standard returns.
We recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured shipping service, particularly given the value of our products. The customer remains responsible for the return shipment until it has been delivered to MALITI, subject to applicable law.
International Returns
For returns from outside the European Union, you are responsible for following the return and customs instructions provided by MALITI.
Returned goods must be correctly declared as returned merchandise in accordance with our instructions in order to avoid unnecessary import duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage charges or carrier fees when the goods are returned to Germany.
Please do not send an international return before receiving our return and customs instructions.
Any additional duties, taxes, customs charges, handling fees or other costs resulting from an incorrectly declared or improperly arranged return may, to the extent permitted by applicable law, be charged to the customer or deducted from the refund.
Condition of Returned Items
Returned products should be handled with care and securely packaged for return.
You may inspect a product to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality. You may be responsible for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary for this purpose, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Where possible, we recommend returning the product with its original product packaging and protective materials to help ensure that it reaches us safely.
Quality Inspection
Every MALITI product is carefully inspected before it is prepared and packed for shipment.
Our products are produced with particular attention to materials, craftsmanship, construction and finish. Each product undergoes a final quality inspection before dispatch.
Natural materials such as linen and bamboo may display individual variations in colour, texture, grain or surface. Such natural characteristics are part of the individual nature of these materials and do not in themselves constitute a defect.
Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order promptly upon delivery.
If an item appears to have arrived damaged, is defective, or if you have received an incorrect item, please contact us at maliti@t-online.de as soon as possible and before returning the product.
Please provide your order number, a description of the issue and appropriate photographic documentation so that we can assess the matter.
Where relevant, we ask that the documentation shows:
-
the product and the reported damage or defect;
-
the complete shipping package as received;
-
any visible damage to the outer packaging;
-
the internal packaging and protective materials; and
-
the shipping label where relevant.
For visible transport damage, please document the condition of the parcel upon receipt wherever reasonably possible.
Please retain the product, the shipping packaging and all protective materials until we have reviewed the matter and provided further instructions. This is particularly important where a claim may need to be made with the shipping carrier.
The purpose of this documentation is to allow MALITI to assess the reported issue and, in the case of transport damage, to provide the information that may be required by the carrier or transport insurer.
Failure to provide particular documentation does not affect any mandatory statutory rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Assessment of Reported Damage or Defects
Once we have received the information regarding a reported defect or transport damage, we will review the matter and advise you on the appropriate next steps.
Please do not independently arrange a return of an item claimed to be defective or damaged before receiving instructions from MALITI.
Where a return is required and the item is confirmed to be defective, damaged upon delivery or incorrectly supplied, MALITI will arrange or bear the applicable return shipping costs in accordance with applicable law.
Where appropriate, MALITI may first request additional photographs, information or other reasonable documentation before arranging a return.
If, following inspection of a returned product, the reported defect or damage cannot be confirmed, the return will be treated in accordance with the applicable return provisions and mandatory consumer law. Any allocation of return shipping costs will be determined accordingly.
Your statutory rights in relation to defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods remain unaffected.
Inspection of Returns
All returned products are inspected after they are received by MALITI.
For standard returns, we will assess the condition of the product and determine whether there has been any handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality.
Where a defect or transport damage has been reported, we will inspect the returned product and verify the reported issue.
We will inform you about the status of your return following receipt and assessment of the returned product.
Any reduction in the amount refunded due to diminished value will only be made where and to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Refunds
Refunds are processed in accordance with applicable statutory requirements.
Where applicable law permits, MALITI may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Once the returned goods have been received, MALITI will inspect the product as described above and process any refund due in accordance with applicable law.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.
MALITI provides complimentary standard shipping for the original delivery of orders to destinations currently served by our online store.
Where duties and import taxes are included in the purchase price or otherwise borne by MALITI for the original delivery, their treatment in connection with a return will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the relevant customs requirements.
European Union — Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the statutory right to withdraw from your online purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, please contact us at maliti@t-online.de with a clear statement of your decision to withdraw from the contract.
Following your notification of withdrawal, the goods must be returned within 14 days.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
You may be responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functionality.
Refunds following the exercise of the statutory right of withdrawal will be made within the periods required by applicable law. Where permitted, MALITI may withhold reimbursement until the goods have been received or until you have provided evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Your statutory rights under applicable European Union and national consumer protection laws remain unaffected.
Exceptions
Mandatory statutory rights, including rights relating to defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods, remain unaffected by this policy.
Where particular products are excluded from a statutory right of withdrawal under applicable law, any such exclusion will only apply where the relevant legal requirements are met and where the customer has been appropriately informed.
