Liscia Ruja Long Beach Costa Smeralda

Liscia Ruja - The Long Beach

Liscia Ruja — The Long Beach

Liscia Ruja stretches quietly along the southern coastline of the Costa Smeralda.

Known as one of the longest beaches in northern Sardinia, it unfolds between open water, soft dunes and low Mediterranean vegetation. The landscape feels expansive and uninterrupted, defined more by space and light than by structure.

The beach follows the natural contours of the coast.

Pale sand extends across wide open areas, while shallow water shifts between transparent blue and warmer turquoise tones. Granite formations appear occasionally along the shoreline, shaped by wind and salt over time.

Despite its scale, the atmosphere remains calm.

The openness of Liscia Ruja creates a different rhythm from smaller coves along the coast. There is more distance between people, more movement of air and light. The horizon remains wide in every direction.

Throughout the day, the landscape changes continuously.

In the early morning, the beach appears almost untouched. The sand remains cool, and the sea reflects soft silver tones beneath the Mediterranean sky. By midday, the brightness intensifies. Shade becomes essential under the open sun, while the colours of the water become clearer and more defined.

In the late afternoon, the atmosphere softens again.

Wind moves slowly across the dunes. Shadows lengthen across the sand. The coastline returns to quiet tones as the heat fades from the day.

Liscia Ruja reflects a more natural side of the Costa Smeralda.

There is little separation between landscape and daily life here. Time is spent close to the water, shaped by sun, wind and open space rather than routine.

It was beaches like this that influenced the development of Maliti 07021.

Along open coastlines, shade becomes part of the experience of the beach itself. Not as a fixed structure, but as something light, adaptable and connected to the environment around it.

The design of 07021 follows the same principle.

Natural materials, calm proportions and a minimal structure allow it to exist quietly within the landscape of the Mediterranean coast.
